Contracting Programs

Statewide, the disabled population is one of the largest groups of under-served individuals. Over fifty percent of Floridians with disabilities who want to work remain unemployed. We encourage all businesses to hire individuals with disabilities.

Goodwill’s Contracting Programs offer employment opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment to enter the local workforce and become independent and self-supporting. Under the supervision of Goodwill, participants develop positive work habits and skills that will allow them to maintain meaningful employment.

Food Service Contracts

  • Goodwill currently operates two government food service contracts at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville Main Galley and the Mayport Naval Station Oasis Galley.

  • Government guidelines require seventy-five percent of the direct labor hours be performed by individuals with a documented disability.

Custodial Training Contracts

  • An in depth six-month paid training program designed to prepare Homeless individuals for a position in the custodial/janitorial services field.

  • This program is available to Homeless individuals and/or individuals threatened by Homelessness.

  • Applicants are pre-screened by on-site Employment Specialists at area shelters (e.g. The I.M. Sulzbacher Center, The Clara White Mission and Community Connections of Jacksonville).

  • Upon completion of the program, Goodwill Employment Specialists work one on one with the graduates to place them into competitive employment.

Contact Dolly Sedwick, Vice President of Operations for more information on these contract opportunities.
