Turning your donated items into jobs and contributing to a better community. That's the power of Goodwill. For more than 80 years, Goodwill Industries of North Florida has been serving Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassua, Putnam, Flagler, Baker, Union, Bradford, Alachua, Columbia, Hamilton, Gilchrist and Suwannee counties by contributing to the building of a better community by helping people with barriers to employment receive job training and placement services.
We collect donated goods from people throughout the community and generate income by selling those items at our stores and online. We use that money for training and placement services provided by our Job Junctions and Goodwill Temps programs. In addition, we receive government and foundation grants to support specific job training and placement programs.
Each year, through the generosity of more than 700,000 retail donors, we are able to provide people in our community with job training and placement services and connect them with meaningful employment.
Ninety-two cents of every dollar we earn goes directly into providing these services.
We are proud to announce Goodwill’s Mayor’s Youth at Work Partnershp (MYAWP)!
The MYAWP program provides eligible high school students work-related experiences that prepare them to succeed in employment. We partner with local businesses who employ and train students. Each student and employer will work with a Job Coach who will assist in the employment process, provide support, training and be a liaison between the student and employer. In addition to employment, students will develop social skills, learn work norms and culture, understand career pathways, build professional networks and learn to manage money.
The goal of the MYAWP is to build the talent pipeline for our local economy by connecting young adults with education and employment career pathways that prepare them to meet the skill demands of employers while leading them to workforce success.
